Rate Coefficient Display

Available only for non-LTE calculations.

To view the rate coefficients for a level, start with a plot of the population for that level along a line of sight. The plot is shown with a symbol drawn at the position of each intersected zone in the plasma. Right clicking with the mouse on one of these points brings up a menu with the item Get rate coefficients...

The first time the rate coefficient data is obtained for a line of sight may take several minutes. Subsequent retrievals for the same line of sight will be fast.

The following data are shown in the table:

• Level: ion stage, electron configuration and term symbol
• Population of the level
• The occupation probability
• Rate coefficients:
  • Collisional up
  • Collisional down
  • Radiative up
  • Spontaneous emission (not shown for virtual levels)
  • Autoionization
  • Stimulated emission (not shown for virtual levels)
  • Radiative recombination (not shown for virtual levels)
  • Dielectronic recombination (not shown for virtual levels)
  • Electron capture (not shown for virtual levels)
  • Hot electron collisional up, if hot electrons are present
  • Hot electron collisional down, if hot electrons are present
  • The total populating rate for the level
  • The total depopulating rate for the level
  • The net populating rate for the level

Depopulating rates are shown in red and are negative.

The table is split, with the splitter initially on the far right. Dragging the splitter with the mouse will reveal the split table.

Clicking on the header of any column will order the column in either ascending or descending order. In the case of the first column, the levels are initially shown in the order in which they occur in the atomic model file, and this is used as the column's ascending order.
